Frequently asked questions

Does Footing connect directly to QuickBooks Online?

Direct QuickBooks Online sync is built and in Intuit's production review. Today you import QuickBooks' own report exports (or our template) and export the over/under billing journal entry as a file QuickBooks imports in one step.

Which accounting systems does it work with?

Any system that can export job costs: QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage 50/100, Foundation, or a plain spreadsheet.

What method does Footing use?

GAAP cost-to-cost percentage of completion: percent complete = cost to date ÷ estimated total cost.

Will my bonding company accept the schedule?

The PDF and Excel schedules include contract value, estimated total cost, cost to date, percent complete, earned revenue, billings to date, over/under billings, and estimated gross profit — the presentation sureties and banks expect. Premium adds formula columns and an audit trail.

How much does it cost?

Free tier, then Starter $19/month, Professional $59/month, Premium $129/month; every new account starts with 14 days of Professional, no card required.

Who is Footing for?

Bookkeepers and CPAs with construction clients, and controllers at general contractors and specialty subcontractors who prepare monthly WIP schedules.
